lesson objective

Daphne McCormack is an illustrator, painter, muralist, and art educator. Her concern for the natural world, especially the turtle and our freshwater areas, is a common theme in her work. In this lesson, children are asked to share their knowledge of water habitats while learning to express their ideas through warm and cool colours, patterns, textures, and lines. Students will also be making stencils and creating shapes from their own designs.

    • JK-SK (30 students)

    • Grade 1-3 (20 students)

    • Grade 4-8 (30 students)

    One lesson is restricted to one class. Classes cannot be combined to reach the maximum size.

  • One lesson is a half-day length, which is approximately 3 hours. This timeframe accounts for:

    • set-up (45 minutes)

    • lesson time (2 hours)

    • clean-up (30 minutes)

  • Yes! We provide all art supplies and materials required for each lesson.

  • Yes! We highly encourage booking two lessons for a day!

    • For example, two different teachers can book lessons for the same day.

    In doing so, you help our Art Educators receive a full day of work, and sustainably maximize our services.
