lesson objective

This lesson explores how mental health and well-being are connected with art making. Learning about Toronto artist Hemangi Shroff, whose work is often inspired by the mandala, a geometric design, typically circular, that represents the cosmos or deities, and is used as a spiritual tool for meditation and focus, particularly in Eastern religions like Buddhism and Hinduism. With a focus on breathing and calming the mind, students will create their own mandala-like artwork, practices that they can access freely to help reduce stress and anxiety in their daily lives.
