Tonya Hart’s artist statement, “The Arctic Circle calls for a new sensibility with some of the most vulnerable animals on earth. Between the earth and the sky, we stand within the possibility of everything.” Students will learn about the animals from the Arctic and their natural environment. Students will create their own sculptural animals and are encouraged to observe how light and shadow act as important elements for the meaning of the sculptures.
