Dovercourt PUBLIC SCHOOL Community Mural

Students at Dovercourt worked on 3 vibrant murals.

Working with artist Kseniya Tsoy to create a colourful and dynamic entrance to their school, the mural features the students' favourite animals as characters that reflect the personality of their school.

To add liveliness to the stairwall, artist Melika Saeeda collaborated with the school community to paint their school mascot, the community's values, and the students' self-portraits.

This mural, inspired by traditional beadwork, is led by Indigenous artist Vanessa Dion Fletcher from Lenape and Potawatomi. She involved students by teaching them about beading approaches and having them create bead-inspired drawings. Using the student's designs as inspiration, she created a unique composition that the school community painted together.
