Hello, Toronto Families!

Taught by professional artists, this studio-based summer art camp at OCAD University offers young artists ages 11–14 an immersive creative experience that goes beyond traditional arts and crafts. Campers explore drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and contemporary art practices in a supportive, artist-led environment designed to build skills, creative confidence, and self-expression.
With small group sizes and access to OCAD U’s studios and downtown Toronto creative spaces, students develop their artistic voice through hands-on learning, outdoor art activities, and cultural experiences including visits to the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO).
The program concludes with a final exhibition where family and friends are invited to celebrate the artwork created throughout the week.

ART PROGRAMS

Week 1 | urban arts
July 20–24, 2026
dive into the city’s energy through bold, expressive art, inspired by graffiti, street art and urban landscapes found within Toronto city and culture

Full-day program (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM) in professional studios hosted at OCAD University
Unique to this program: Experiment with printmaking, poster design, and mixed media using found materials, while creating work that reflects your voice and the spaces we share
Included visits to see public art, AGO and local galleries in Toronto
Hands-on exploration of drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, and mixed media
End-of-week showcase for family and friends, opportunity for participants to present their work, celebrates creative growth and artistic exploration
Week 2 | Eco arts
July 27–31, 2026
create art, inspired by the natural world through hands-on exploration of plants, animals and landscapes, utilizing up-cycled materials and sustainable practises

Unique to this program: From outdoor making in Grange Park to studio-based painting, textiles, and sculpture, participants build eco-conscious works that connect creativity with care for the environment

Hands-on exploration of drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, and mixed media
End-of-week showcase for family and friends, opportunity for participants to present their work, celebrates creative growth and artistic exploration

Meet the Instructor
Rachel Pyfrom is a Toronto-based artist and experienced children’s art educator with over 10 years of experience designing and teaching youth arts programming.
Originally from Nassau, Bahamas, Rachel recently completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting at OCAD University. Her artistic practice explores themes of memory, family, and community through painting and other textile-based processes.
As an Artist Educator, Rachel leads creative programs and collaborative mural projects with students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 across Toronto schools with Blank Canvases. She holds a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) and is passionate about helping children discover their creativity in a supportive studio environment.
